Hepplewhite Period c. 1770-1790

George Hepplewhite was a cabinet-maker and designer at St. Giles, Cripplegate. His designs drew heavily on the designs of France and are elegantly Neo-classical. His widow published his designs in ‘The Cabinet Maker’s and Upholsterer’s Guide’ in 1790.
